Unit 6 Use of English: Actions and change
Apply change-maker vocabulary, prepositions, word forms, and grammar.
Use precise verbs for change: motivate means encourage action, expect means believe something will happen, achieve means succeed in reaching a goal, allow means give permission, and appear can describe how something seems. Learn complete combinations such as raise money and be open to ideas. Fixed prepositions complete on an island, on your own, thanks to, shout at, escape from, fight against, interested in, on social media, and chat with. Word families change to fit a sentence: footballer, decision, happiness, lucky, achievement, national, and motivated. Grammar still depends on structure: want to become, do not let failure stop you, and encourage someone to join.
