Listen to a talk with a travel blogger

Follow Aida's path from family trips and school-time plans to a travel blog and future agency.

The speaker organises her story across three time periods. Childhood travel within Azerbaijan gave her family experiences and photos. Two years before the talk, while in tenth grade and planning to become an English teacher, she saw a travel blog and took up blogging. She then describes her current English-language blog, its photos, traditions, followers, likes, and comments before explaining her future travel-agency plan. Listen for time markers and attach each plan or action to the right period.

✎Attach a plan to its time
  1. 1Hear the marker: Notice whether the speaker says two years ago or future.
  2. 2Name the plan: English teaching belongs to the earlier story; the agency belongs to the future.
  3. 3Check: Reject an answer that moves a plan into the wrong time period.
🚫Suggestion is not intention

The parents suggest a travel book, but the speaker says writing books is not for her.

💡Track content and response

Photos and tradition information are blog content; likes and comparison comments are audience responses.

Rules

  1. 1Separate childhood, two years ago, last month, the present blog description, and future plans.
  2. 2At the story time two years ago, the speaker was planning to become an English teacher.
  3. 3The stated future business plan is a travel agency named Incredible Tours.
  4. 4Keep what the speaker does separate from what her father, followers, and parents do.
  5. 5Treat more than 15,000 as a lower-bound quantity, not exactly 15,000.
  6. 6Do not turn a suggestion from the speaker's parents into her own plan.
